My name is Silvia Galli

I am a woman, a mother, an economist, and a teacher. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the Institute of Economics of the University of St. Gallen (FGN-HSG).

My research is at the crossroads between economic growth, development, and innovation.

I received my Ph.D. in Economics from Durham University (UK) in 2012.

I was a tenured assistant professor in economics at the University of Hull (UK) from 2011-2013 before joining the Institute of Economics faculty at the University of St. Gallen.

In 2014 I was awarded the prestigious "UniCredit & Universities Foundation Best PhD Thesis Award", conferred to the three best PhD theses in economics discussed within European universities over the previous three years.
